报告摘要:

2D material defines a group of solid that can be thinned down to only one atomic layer using the Scotch tape exfoliation technique. Within such material platform, a wide range of quantum phenomena are expected to emerge, stabilized by the truly 2D electrical confinement and unique symmetry of 2D lattices. In this talk, I will first discuss the history of van de Waals heterostructure, and demonstrate the ability to engineer electron correlation by playing with the lego setof 2D material, or the so-called van de Waals heterostructure. An interesting example of such tunable emergent phenomena is the condensate of electron-hole pairs in double-layer graphene structure in the quantum Hall effect regime. I will examine quantum transport measurement in different device geometries and explore the unique physical structure and topological properties associated with such superfluid phase.

报告人简介:

李嘉,2008年本科毕业于清华大学物理系,2014年获美国西北大学博士学位,2014-2018年在哥伦比亚大学从事博士后研究。2019年起在布朗大学担任助理教授。主要从事液氦超流,石墨烯量子霍尔效应等低温输运性质的研究,发表论文近20篇,其中Science 1篇,Nature Physics 4篇,Phys. Rev. Lett. 7篇, Nature Communication 1.
